The temperature sky-rocketed to the nineties this week and the humidity is rising. Unfortunately, this makes the mosquitoes extremely happy and they are getting a little out of control. The bats, however, are in heaven and there are swarms of them swooping around at night snacking on mosquitoes left and right.
Sean has taken extra measures against the biting pests this year and put up netting on his and my entryways. He gets annoyed with me if I take too long coming or going as it lets a lot of mosquitoes in.
I have an electric mosquito racket on each level of my house and use it excessively. Having a fan blowing on me while I'm working on the computer or watching a movie also helps. I'm also very grateful that I sleep in a high-quality mosquito net at night - last year I splurged for a canopy version and it was totally worth it.
In other news, while you're out and about in Changzhou, be careful not to fall off the second level of the outdoor mall. Perhaps a more accurate sign should warn, "Caution, droppings" as there are quite a few piles of those around the mall due to the little tykes with split pants . . . (Thanks for the photo Jorg!)
