We have been really lucky to have good weather on our days off and have done a lot of biking into town. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to downtown Queenstown from where we live and we have the option of biking on the road or on a trail by the lake.
I have a big sweet tooth. The problem with biking and having a sweet tooth is that it's a lot easier to justify eating desserts by saying things like, "I've been biking all day, of course I'm going to have two scoops." When we roll into town I usually want a) ice cream b) homemade cookies from Cookie Time (this shop is so cool it will get its own post) c) homemade fudge or d) all of the above.
The other housekeepers at work had been talking all week about the best place to get ice cream in Queenstown. It's called Patagonia and actually serves gelato. They recommened trying the "dulce de leche" flavor and said it was fantastic. So the last time Sean and I were in town we stopped for ice cream and it was really good. The cones were homemade and the ice cream was so rich I couldn't even finish mine which has got to be a first. As you can see, Sean dominated his cone in a matter of minutes so he had no problem helping me finish mine. I can say with confidence that we will be headed back to Patagonia in the near future. Yum!
It looks cooler than I would have expected it to be there, but I guess they're getting into fall weather at this point. What is the weather like?
